We offer a unique experience - staying at a rural house built in the 1950s but totally renovated and adapted to modern needs. The house is hosted by young active grandparents that will be thrilled to make your time in the region and their house a most memorable one. We are sure that you will want to spend more time outside enjoying the privilege of being right in the heart of one of the most beautiful Nature Parks of Portugal. A wooden swing for daydreaming or just sit while you finish reading that book that you have been longing for; a swimming pool to cool off the hottest days; a games room with a pool table, table games and a huge fireplace to warm up the coolest days; barbecue facilities for those who love cooking outside.
João Paulo and Ana Sofia were born in the 1960s and have lived most of their lives in the city, very close to the capital of Portugal - Lisbon. After becoming proud parents of 3 little girls they felt the need to connect with nature and make sure their girls would have a place where they could play and escape from the hustle and bustle of a big city. In 1999 they bought this property where long weekends and vacation were spent. Now that the girls have left the family house in the city they felt it was time to enjoy life at its fullest and dedicate their life to this project. They are waiting for you and your family to share this hidden gem and lifetime project!
A car is essential for these holidays as there is no public transport to the house. The house is reached by car from Lisbon Airport in 2 hours and 30 minutes. GPS Coordinates: 39°11'08.9"N 7°13'22.1" The village of Arronches is 9 km away and offers small restaurants and some markets. The border with Spain is 3 km away and the town of Badajoz is 1 hour away. Monte dos Pintos is situated in the Natural Park of Serra de São Mamede, where it is possible to appreciate the varied vegetation and observe rare birds of prey such as the vulture, kite or Bonelli eagle – the symbol of the Park. If you are interested in archaeological heritage, make sure to visit the medieval towns of Castelo de Vide, Alegrete and Marvão.
