Quinta de Carcavelos was built in 1717. This old estate consists of two separate houses: the manor house and the caretakers' house. Both houses were built in stone, a material widely used at the time in the Mancelos area. Quinta de Carcavelos is located in the bed of two valleys, with a magnificent view of the mountains. In the area, there is Roman architecture, including churches and monasteries. These are interesting places to visit. Just a three-minute walk from the Quinta, there is a café, a restaurant, and a supermarket. By car, and in just ten minutes, you reach Amarante – a very pleasant and peaceful city where you’ll find delicious pastries and good restaurants. Unique and well-known shops can also be found. From Amarante to Porto, it’s about 35 minutes by car. By train, the journey becomes enjoyable, with beautiful views. Amarante Golf is 10 minutes away by car, along a scenic road. The Douro River is just a few kilometers from Quinta de Carcavelos. For guests’ comfort, Quinta de Carcavelos offers 6 suites, all equipped with air conditioning and cable TV.
