I’m 39 years old and I’m an extremely open and fun person, who loves to meet new people and give everybody a warm welcome. I work as a translator and teacher and I lived abroad for several years, in Spain, France and South America. I have two great passions: Douro, where I grew up and that defined me so much as a person, and travelling. I travelled to several parts of the world, including to South America for 1 year. I had the opportunity to stay as a guest with hosts that helped me to get to know and experience the places I visited in a genuine and meaningful way and that is also what I want to do for my guests. I can contact several partners in the region that will allow our visitors to discover the best-kept secrets of this stunning region.

Quinta do Sol is a quiet, friendly and familiar place, where guests can enjoy lovely shared areas surrounded by nature and a refreshing pool during summer. It's a place where everyone can feel at home and enjoy several activities in the heart of Douro. It is a semi-detached villa with a private space which includes a place for indoor parking, a kennel for pets, garden, several sitting areas and a pool. The house consists of the first floor, where the entrance hall, shared living room and kitchen are located, and the second floor, where guests' bedrooms are located. Guests have access to all the shared areas: • Living Room (equipped with air conditioning, cable TV, books, DVD player and DVD collection, stereo, bar, dining table) • Garden, outside tables, pergolas and pool There is a fridge in the living room that is exclusive for guests, and a coffee machine and coffee available for guests. Exceptionally, in 2020, apart from the barbecue outside, guests can also use the kitchen, following the rules detailed below. There are also several restaurants that do take-away and supermarkets nearby. Wifi available in the entire house, including outside.

Neighbourhood information

Quinta do Sol is located in Alijó, a quiet and ancient village in the heart of Douro. This village has several historical and natural attractions, but it also has everything that our guests need to enjoy a comfortable stay, like supermarkets, restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Alijó is strategically located between the Douro valley and the new Tua Valley Natural Park. In this area, guests can enjoy activities like walking tours, boat tours or jeep tours, visits to farms, museums or archeological sites, wine and olive oil tastings, etc., surrounded by a unique and breathtaking landscape of terraces and vineyards.
