„La Căsuțele din Toag” is a traditional wooden house from Țara Oașului, carefully relocated, restored, and brought back to life. We wanted to preserve the soul and atmosphere of the old wooden homes while offering the comfort modern travelers expect.
Guests can enjoy the peace of the village, the fresh mountain air, and traditional meals prepared with local ingredients. The thick oak and stone walls keep the rooms naturally cool in summer, while in winter the wood-burning stoves provide warmth and a special rustic charm.
The spacious yard, the garden, and the view of the surrounding hills make this the perfect choice for anyone looking for an authentic holiday, close to nature and local traditions.
My name is Ciprian Honca, and I am proud to be your host at Căsuțele din Toag. I hold a PhD in History from Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and I work as a curator at the Satu Mare County Museum. My academic and professional journey has been dedicated to studying and preserving the cultural heritage of this region. This same passion inspired me to restore a centuries-old oak-wood house and create a space where guests can experience the authentic charm of Țara Oașului.
For me, hosting is more than simply providing accommodation – it is about sharing traditions, stories, and the warm hospitality of our community. I enjoy preparing homemade meals with local ingredients, telling the stories of our customs, and helping visitors discover the hidden beauty of our landscapes and wooden heritage. I have also been directly involved in protecting historical monuments, which makes this project especially meaningful to me.
When you stay at Căsuțele din Toag, you are not just booking a room – you are stepping into a living story where history, tradition, and nature meet.
Căsuțele din Toag are located in the village of Boinești, in the heart of Țara Oașului – a region famous for its traditional music, folk costumes, and living traditions. The area is peaceful, surrounded by hills, forests, and meadows, offering guests the chance to relax in nature and experience authentic rural life.
Nearby you can visit the Museum of Țara Oașului in Negrești-Oaș, explore the Călinești-Oaș Lake, or take a trip to Luna Șes resort, ideal for hiking and winter sports. Traditional villages in the region still preserve centuries-old customs, festivals, and crafts.
For those interested in culture and history, local celebrations, handicrafts, and authentic gastronomy provide a deep connection to the spirit of Oaș. Whether you want to hike in the surrounding hills, take part in village events, or simply enjoy quiet evenings in the courtyard, the neighborhood offers both relaxation and discovery.
