Neighbourhood information

Our guesthouse is located in Gikondo suburb, near the top of Mount Rebero. If you enjoy hiking and nature walk, you’ll have amazing views over Kigali City and beyond. Gikondo is a quiet residential neighborhood and is home to Canal Olympia, the best movie theater and live performance venue in Rwanda and the University of Rwanda, College of Business. Gikondo’s pretty close to town; it’s easy to get taxi motos and each ride will cost you one dollar only. Our guesthouse is right next to Talking Through Art, an organization of women who craft the best baskets in Rwanda and; Amahoro Women who make lovely bags, accessories, children’s clothing, and home decor products using the African fabric. Gikondo is not your choice if you are looking for a busy nightlife but it is stacked with colourful bars if you want some local food in a funky atmosphere. We recommend Markit Bar, Rio de Gikondo, Chez Grill and Chez Papa Guiness. Many fans of the English premier league usually gather there on weekends. The best supermarket is Frulep and the best chic restaurant 1000 Hills Distillery if you are in the mood for amazing views, great cocktails and the steak that’s served on a hot volcanic rock.
