The pretty village of Trnje, where our B&B is situated, can be found in the centre of the green Notranjska region – the southwest part of Slovenia . Our surroundings are simply gorgeous! The countryside here is mixed with farming and forest, which makes a perfect habitat for many animals and a beautiful place to live. Our guests can enjoy and experience the quality of the rich flora all year round, Trnje is especially blooming in the spring and early summer. You will love the peace and quiet, with only the morning birds singing to disturb you! There are no cars to interrupt your walk along country paths. We are hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but only 15 minutes from the motorway. Bikers are very welcome as we are bikers too. They can leave their cars and trailers on our parking lot and continue their holidays with motorbikes. Even you can't see, our whole house is made from wood. Therefore has very healthy athmosphere, it is dry and breathable and provides healthy living and sleeping! We are using only green energy. Sun collectors and heating pump for warm water and electric pannels so, you can charge your electric car for free! The house was builted in 2000!
Our location is very peaceful and tranquil – there is no through traffic and for hikers, there are many routes into the forest and around Pivka’s unique disappearing lakes, ( these are lakes which appear in the Winter and disappear in the Summer!) We can also organize guided tours from one hour up to complete day trips. We like the nature. On our farm we have many icelandic horses. Some of them are our breed. In the past Zvone, my husband, and me were competing quite a lot with them. Now our "half hobby" is a riding school. We love to travel with motorbike so bikers are wellcome. We are happy to advice you a suitable and good scenery tour. In our neighbourhood you can visit Museum of military history, the EKO museum and make shorter or longer tours with views and twisty roads with little traffic, good driving conditions and good places to taste delicious food. If you are more for longer and smoothable tours with interesting views and good asphalt we can recommend you the whole day tours which are leading from the sea side trough wilderness and forests over Croatian border and on the other side back to Slovenia.
You will find lovely places to just ” sit and relax ” and plenty of routes to go jogging or trekking. After a day breathing fresh air, the local restaurants will give you a taste of Slovene cuisine and good wine. It is less than an hour’s drive to the coast and to other fantastic places to explore in Slovenia. So a holiday in Trnje can be both active and relaxing. Our luxury is nature in her purest form! For motorbikers we can recommend a nice day tour which can lead you along green river Soča, visiting I. world war museum in Kobarid, between beautiful valeys in Julian alps trough the mountain scenery over the pass Vršič on 1600m and visiting our marvelous lake Bled.
