Company info

Mama Washindi Lodge belongs to the NGO "Nobody to Somebody", which supports children and women from poor and vulnerable backgrounds. Through Shalom Primary School and Kindergarden children from the surrounding area are able to attend school, they are also helped by a Sponsorship programme. We are trying to make make a difference in their lives and beside education teach them christian values. All the profit of the Lodge supports directly pupils in the Primary School, who are orphans or whose parents are not able to pay any school fees. We are also selling handcraft from women who are HIV affected. The Lodge is is environmental friendly constructed by using local materials, powered only by Solar and water is from the own borehole. The milk comes direct from our cattle and the honey from our bee hives project. Bread is baked freshly on a daily basis and if you are lucky you can taste our home made cheese. We are looking forward to welcome you so that you can enjoy our special German-Ugandan hospitality in a tranquil and peaceful environment!

Mama Washindi Safari Lodge is located high above the valley of the Nile river with a stunning view in a calm and peaceful athmosphere. Its very close to the Tangi gate, one of the main entrances of Ugandas biggest National Park-Murchison Falls. Through the income of the lodge Shalom Primary School for orphans and children from vulnerable and poor backgrounds is supported.

Neighborhood info

As long as our lodge is in a former game reserve our closest neighbours are antelopes, monkeys and once in a while elephants. Its a very silent and peaceful area. In addition there are some cattle keepers with their herds around. The next village is about 5km away.
