Company information

There are many reasons why Alpine Bed and Breakfast is the highest-rated place to stay in Alpine and the Big Bend, from our amenities to our gourmet breakfasts—but it all comes down to attention to detail. Owners Sharon and Tom first fell in love with Alpine while hiking here on their honeymoon and second anniversary. Hosting allows them to share the beauty, quiet charm, and rugged landscape that captured their hearts—while creating unforgettable stays filled with comfort, conversation, and great food. Set in the 135+ year-old Kincaid-Wade House, the lovingly restored Queen Anne Victorian offers historic character and modern comfort just a 5-minute walk from downtown. Original fireplaces, tall windows, and transoms meet curated art, updated furnishings, and luxurious touches. Breakfast is included and made fresh each morning to meet dietary needs. Relax outside on the wrap-around porch, in the hot tub, or by the fire pit—or inside in our inviting common areas. Alpine is your perfect base—just 20–30 minutes from Marfa, Marathon, and Fort Davis, 60 from Balmorhea, and 90 from Big Bend National Park.

Property information

There are many reasons why Alpine Bed and Breakfast is the highest-rated place to stay in Alpine and the Big Bend, from our amenities to our love for flavorful breakfasts—but it all comes down to attention to detail. Just a 5-minute walk from downtown Alpine, our B&B is in the 135+ year-old Kincaid-Wade House, a lovingly maintained Queen Anne Victorian on an acre in the Historic District. The home features 7-foot windows, high ceilings, original fireplaces, glass transoms, hardwood floors, beadboard paneling, and rare interior spindlework. We've blended old-world charm with modern comforts, art, and thoughtful updates. Breakfast is included and made daily in our modernized kitchen, tailored to guest needs. Outside, relax on the wrap-around porch, enjoy the hot tub, fire pit, tables, or hammock. Inside, unwind in the dining room or living room with smart TV and a game-ready table. Alpine is your ideal base for exploring Big Bend, just 20–30 minutes from Marfa, Marathon, and Fort Davis, 60 from Balmorhea, and 90 from the National Park.

Neighbourhood information

Our neighborhood is part of Alpine’s quiet and historic heart, where tree-lined streets and century-old homes reflect the town’s deep roots and relaxed pace. We’re located in the Historic District, just a short, pleasant walk from downtown shops, restaurants, art galleries, live music, and events like Artwalk and Viva Big Bend. You’ll find it easy to explore Alpine without ever needing to drive. Even though we're close to the action, the neighborhood remains peaceful. Guests often mention how restful the nights are, with clear skies, cool breezes, and the occasional sound of a distant train. Large trees shade the sidewalks, and the area is filled with well-kept historic homes and friendly neighbors who wave hello. Whether you're heading out for a hike, strolling to catch a concert, or enjoying a glass of wine on the porch at sunset, this is the perfect setting to relax and recharge while still being close to everything Alpine and the Big Bend region have to offer.
