Belle Oaks is known as one of the most beautiful restored historic homes in the area. As a B&B, we are known for our gourmet breakfasts (particularly our award-winning Pecan Orange Bread) and the attention to detail each guest receives during their visit. We offer personal services such as setting up a historic homes tour with a local expert, recommending things to do in the area, buying tickets in advance for out-of-towners coming for a specific event at one of our local theatres, arranging for flowers or champagne as a special surprise for a milestone birthday or anniversary, and making dinner reservations. Whatever the request, we will do our best to fulfill it. As the innkeeper, I love that I am the custodian for such a beautiful property, and that I can share it with guests during their visit.

Belle Oaks Inn Bed & Breakfast was built by banker C.E. Dilworth in 1912. The Louisiana Plantation Style mansion has been transformed into a modern tribute to the Southern charm, hospitality, and grace of a bygone era. The comfortable guest rooms have been tastefully decorated with a mix of fine antiques and furnishings with attention given to every detail. The extensive grounds include beautifully manicured lawns and gardens, a sparkling swimming pool and reflecting pond, which are all nestled under massive Live Oak and Pecan trees.

The historic tour we can arrange for guests is a must -- it is a great way to learn about the history of the area and get "the scoop" on many of the town's historic homes and families. Shopping on the square is wonderful. Visit our antiques shops and boutiques. Our local theatre shows first run movies, and the Crystal Theatre has several outstanding productions each year. In the spring, a drive to Kloesel's Steakhouse in Moulton (housed in a historic building that in the 19th century served as the Moore Hotel) will take you past gorgeous fields of wildflowers (and it's a pretty drive any time of the year). Spoetzl Brewery, home of world famous Shiner Beer, offers brewery tours weekdays at 11:30 and 1:30 (additional tour times added in the summer). For the sports enthusiast, we have a beautiful golf course (as well as a course for disc golf), fishing at nearby Lake Wood, hiking along beautiful trails in Palmetto State Park, and kayaking on the Guadalupe River. For the cowboy in all of us, J.B. Wells Arena regularly features roping, barrel racing, bull riding, and cutting horse events, and IS the official home of the Texas State Junior Rodeo Finals.
