Company information

Artist Julie Hedrick and Composer Peter Wetzler run Church Des Artistes Guest House while actively pursuing their arts. Guests are welcome to ask for a studio tour and sometimes enjoy impromptu concerts given by Wetzler and guest musicians. While passionate about the local beauty of the area including hikes, waterfalls and river activities, local shops and antiquing as well as the arts and food scene in the area they are happy to share their knowledge with guests.

Property information

Church Des Artistes is an 1800's church hall that was converted by and artist musician couple into bedrooms, studio space and living areas. Its large country kitchen includes the original 8 burner double oven stove, original wood floors and cabinets. The upstairs bedrooms feature stained glass windows, high ceilings and courtyard views and private baths on the ground floor. The downstairs bedrooms have en suite baths and queen canopy beds. In the late spring and summer to early fall breakfast is served in the courtyard garden. Guests can walk down the hill to shop and dine along the historic waterfront district of Kingston called "The Rondout"

Neighbourhood information

We are in a historic neighborhood just up the hill from marinas, restaurants, galleries and shops along the Roundout River less than a mile from where it enters The Hudson. This river port was a bustling boatbuilding hub at the turn of the century and many of the old factories and buildings (like ours) have been "up sourced" into unique work and living spaces making for a very walkable and personable small town with great eateries, shopping and museums.
