"Dawdy Haus" is Pennsylvania Dutch (Amish) for "Grandpa's House". When the kids have grown up and the house becomes too big, it becomes time to turn it over to a child that has their own growing family. The Amish often build a new house for the grandparents - with a guest room or two. This is known as the "dawdy haus". This is our dawdy haus! Let us share it with you! PLEASE NOTE. You are booking the entire main floor of the house. The owners live in the basement. This home is also available as a Bed and Breakfast by a different listing. By choosing to book this listing, you are choosing a little more privacy instead of breakfast.

Two blocks from Main Street, it's the perfect location for us - and probably for you if you prefer to walk instead of trying to find a parking place downtown! Frankenmuth is made for walking. And from our home you're a couple blocks from shops, restaurants and all the attractions
