Iowa nice is located seven blocks from the center of winterset. Many small, privately owned stores and restaurants surround the historical courthouse. The home of John Wayne and the museum are close. Winterset is the home of the movie, “Bridges of Madison County”the seven bridges surround the city.
I have been hosting in my home for six in the community and can help arrange family functions, I am familiar with all of our restaurants not only in Winterset but the surrounding small town. some of the events and Winterset are the John Wayne Days, with a rodeo dinner, a parade. The fall festival with the bridges of Madison County, and many handcrafted vendors. We are within 13 Miles from both interstate 80 and interstate 35. The capital of Iowa is Des Moines , 20 miles away. The Iowa State fair is easy to get to, as is the botanical center, the science center, the art center, the Des Moines zoo, and the Iowa State capital.
Winterset is the ideal small town America. Our courthouse is the center of our town. The crime rate is practically non-existent. every person you meet will greet you.
