Looking for a change in lifestyle, we left the corporate world in 2006 and purchased James Place Inn. We love meeting people from all over the world and sharing stories. It is truly a pleasure to ensure that our guests have a wonderful experience while with us and we work hard to see that they do.

Property information

James Place Inn was originally built in 1890. Fully renovated and converted to an inn in 1997, it maintains all of the charm and character of its original state. The floors are a beautiful honey maple and the woodwork and staircase are original. Designed in the Victorian style, it has all of the modern features and amenities.

Neighbourhood information

We are so fortunate to live in such an amazing neighborhood. Freeport offers so much to see and do and you can stroll to all of it from James Place Inn. The LL Bean campus is two blocks away. All of Freeport's shopping and restaurants are easily accessed by walking. There is also a six-screen movie theater should you want to have dinner and a movie. Located on a quiet side street, enjoy the deck in summer. Take a break with a cup of tea, an afternoon snack, or just sit and relax with a good book. The hammock is also a perfect resting spot! Looking for more adventure and things to do? We are a perfect outpost for your activities, whether it be hiking, bicycling, kayaking, visiting our beautiful beaches, museums, lighthouses...all is within easy reach.
