As the Bed and Breakfast Owner of Kona Bayview Inn, Thomas is enjoying his new job and lifestyle. He has spent time in many places other than Hawaii including Michigan, Texas, Colorado and Florida in his search for “home”. He spent four years in Italy and Germany while serving in the military but always felt that there was something more for him and that something was missing. He has finally found “home” in the Aloha of the island, working the macadamia nut orchard (Pele’s Garden) and being an attentive host to our guests at Kona Bayview Inn. Thomas enjoys grilling, gardening, photography, diving and cats. He loves cats! Sharon grew up in Northern California and spent time living in Michigan, Illinois, Rhode Island and Florida before finding her forever home on the beautiful hillside of Captain Cook, HI. Waking each morning to the wonderful view and the opportunity to bake for and visit with guests from around the globe has been a blessing. Sharon enjoys baking, crafts, snorkeling, diving, walking/jogging/yoga and playing on the internet. If you love the pitter-patter of paws this place is for you! Amidst the birds by day and frogs by night, six charming feline companions have made themselves at home here, each with their unique personalities that bring joy and laughter to every corner. Adding to the furry festivities is our lovable canine companion, Kulani, who seamlessly integrates into the lively dynamics, creating a harmonious blend of fur, fun, and boundless affection. Together, our six cats and one delightful dog transform Kona Bayview Inn into a haven of warmth and companionship, making every day an adventure filled with unconditional love. Our Kitties: Shasta (Calico), Tigger (Orange Tabby), Maui (Solid Grey), Moana (Tortie & Maui's sister), Oli (Black & Grey Bangal like), and Bell (Spotted Calico & Oli's sister).
Kona Bayview Inn is located in Captain Cook, Hawaii, just 17 miles south of Kailua-Kona. Our remote location is close to two of the best snorkeling destinations on the island. Two-Step Beach is five miles away and is the home to green sea turtle (honu) and is frequented by pods of dolphins. Captain Cooks monument can be reached by tour boat, kayaking or a two-mile hike. The trail head is three miles from our Inn. The crystal clear waters provide great views of coral and fish making this one of the best places to view the underwater world on the Big Island.
