Hi, we’re Suzanne & Andy -- best friends, parents and small business owners. We have a keen appreciation for the importance of small downtowns and the role they play in defining a sense of place. That’s why we located our business, Emmett’s Brewing Co., in downtown West Dundee and it’s also why we’ve branched out over the years and opened additional locations in other small historic downtowns nearby. We view hosting as a logical extension of our creativity and passion for hospitality. We live nearby and enjoy small town living. When we’re not busy running our businesses we enjoy working on our historic home, traveling, great food, drink and companionship. We only live a few blocks away. If you encounter any problems or if there’s anything you need we are only a text or phone call away.

Welcome to Kildahl House where 4 separate charming one-bedroom farmhouse suites await! Each private apartment is light, airy and tastefully decorated to provide a luxury experience. Each suite features a comfortable seating area, large private bathroom with a Carrera marble shower surround. Each apartment features a king-size bed and a fully equipped galley style kitchen with brand new Samsung appliances. Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. Suite #4 is located on the second floor. Kildahl House is a fully updated farmhouse that was painstakingly renovated specifically for short-term lodging guests. The simple farmhouse was built by the Kildahl family in the early 1900’s and occupies a prominent location atop a hill, looking over the downtown. Mr. J.P. Kildahl was the village’s first prominent photographer and served as a Village Trustee for 30 years, while Mrs. Louise Kildahl—active in the community—started a flower service that began almost fifty years of a beautiful tradition of bestowing flowers wherever cheer, or congratulations were in order. In 2022, the property was completely rehabbed and renovated to offer four private one-bedroom suites that honor the original heritage of the property with clean lines, pastel color palettes, and simple farmhouse furnishings. The tonal clapboard structure with cedar shake roof offers river and downtown views, private backyard with a seating area. The wraparound porch, complete with porch swing, will take you back in time. Here you can relax, take in the sights, and enjoy the charm of our uniquely quaint downtown.

Kildahl House is centrally located in historic downtown Dundee. The entire downtown district is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. You’re just steps away from numerous dining and nightlife options. Downtown Dundee also offers a pleasant river walk and the Fox River bike trail which both wind their way along the Fox River. Kildahl House is a perfect home base for exploring all that the Fox River Valley has to offer. Our location is conveniently located 3 miles north of Interstate 90 and 5 miles to the closest Metra Train station. Uber, Lyft, and PACE public busses are all available. We are a quick 30 minutes from Chicago's O-Hare International Airport. Free parking is offered across the street in one of many municipal parking lots. Kildahl House offers the convenience of self-check-in with keyless entry. Kildahl House is perfect for couples, solo adventurers and business travelers. Please note that due to the age and historic nature of the property there is no elevator and access requires walking up a flight of stairs.
