Head into downtown Blue Ridge for all kinds of restaurants like Serenity Garden Cafe for their burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, french fries, huge pancakes, and biscuits. Cantaberry has awesome grub such as their tomato basil and beer cheese soups. You should also try out Mike's Trackside BBQ for their green beans, coleslaw, potato salads, pulled pork, baked beans, and ribs. Blue Ridge is home of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway and is adjacent to great hiking in the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests, also the beginning and end of the Appalachian Trail. The Toccoa River changes names to the Ocoee River at the Tennessee border in McCayesville. There is great year-round trout fishing from Blue Ridge Dam (Tammen Park access) to Curtis Switch down to McCayesville. Less than 30 minutes from the cabin is fantastic guided whitewater rafting on the Ocoee, home of 1996 Olympic slalom course. The highest falls in GA, Amicalola Falls, is a 45-minute drive away.
