Welcome to the A-frame at Finch Creek, a one-of-a-kind Northern Michigan getaway overlooking Finch Creek and completely surrounded by the Grass River Natural area. This newly renovated cabin features 20 ft. vaulted ceilings, large picture windows, an indoor fireplace, and is close to some of the most beautiful lakes in the entire state.
My wife and I have been visiting Northern Michigan for nearly a decade, dreaming of building one-of-a-kind getaways. In 2021, we bought land, and in 2023, we broke ground on our first build - The Tower at Glacial Hills. We document our journey on IG and YouTube under the name "North of Nowhere" for those who enjoy unique getaways like us. We have a daughter named Whitley, and two dogs (Memphis + Tully) who are our whole world.
Located conveniently between Bellaire and Alden, the a-frame sits on a bluff overlooking Finch Creek and is completely surrounded by the beautiful cedars and pines of the grass river natural area. Hiking trails just a minute away. Torch Lake and Lake Bellaire are both approximately 5 minutes away. Shanty Creek Resort, featuring six excellent golf courses and Schuss Mountain are just 8 minutes away. Downtown Bellaire, home to Short’s Brewery, Mammoth Distillery, and more, is a quick 10-minute drive from the A-frame. Popular Northern Michigan cities such as Charlevoix, Petoskey, Boyne City, and Traverse City are all within an hour's reach. We have plenty of parking and space for up to 4 vehicles.
