Unlike the vast majority of the vacation home owners in Key West Florida, I am an original Key West Conch, born and raised on the island. My ancestors immigrated to Key West from the Bahamas 150 years ago and much of my family still lives there. This beautiful home, The Guava Duff located at 25 6th Ave, was my grandparents home, that they purchased on my grandfather James’s laborer and my grandmother Yvonne’s maid salary in 1965, and is where my mother first brought me from the hospital after I was born. So this home is very special to me. The Guava Duff name comes from the delicious Bahamian dessert my Grandmother Yvonne used to make, and the renovation in 2020 by my friends and family, was done with the same tender love and care that Mama Yvonne used to make Guava Duff, and the result is something I am extremely proud of.
Uncommon to the island, we have a large corner lot with plenty of FREE parking and a spacious fully fenced yard providing a respite and breathing room from all the hustle and bustle of Key West. We have an over-sized front porch where you can sit back and enjoy a few beers or cocktails in paradise or BBQ and listen to some tunes while watching island life go by.
We are conveniently located across the street from Bernstein Park, less than a mile away from great local restaurants and convenience stores including El Siboney, Hogfish Bar and Grill, Hurricane Hole, Roostica, El Mocho, Dion’s Quick Mart, Jolly’s Liquor Store and CVS. We are also within walking distance of three fine dining restaurants located at the Perry Hotel and the Stock Island Marina Village - one of the top 50 marina’s in the nation! We are also just 10 minutes away from Old Town Key West, 14 minutes from Duval St. 9 minutes from Smather’s Beach and 5 minutes from Key West Golf Club!
So welcome to the Guava Duff where you will feel both at home and comfortable and have your own space to enjoy that sweet Key West chill.
