Step into the Kumu House by Vera Hawaii— designed with modern island surf style & located in a lush secluded lane of charming homes right off the iconic Ali'i Dr. It's a welcoming family-friendly home base for all of your Hawaiian adventures and a quick ten-minute drive from the heart of Kailua-Kona. The Kumu House is an inviting 1400 sq.ft. two story 3-bedroom home with 2.5 baths, with 3 queen beds. Prepare meals in the fully stocked kitchen and outdoor grill, stream your favorite entertainment on the Apple TV & HD projector in the evenings, and hit the beach with our complimentary set of body boards, beach and snorkel gear. To make your stay comfortable, the home is well stocked with amenities like toiletries, beach towels, yoga gear, coffee/tea and more. All three bedrooms are located on the second story, while downstairs you will find the kitchen, living, and dining rooms. Also enjoy two outdoor lounging areas where the cozy string lighting creates a relaxed vibe in the evenings. The picnic table is perfect for casual outdoor family meals. The Kumu House is a private full home rental. To access our secure street, you will have to enter an entry code to get through the vehicle gate. Parking for up to two cars is directly adjacent to the house, under the carport. The house shares a driveway with The Earthy Beach House, another of our rentals. Please note, there is A/C in the living room and only 2 of the 3 bedrooms (split level unit).

Neighbourhood information

The Kumu House is centrally located, yet tucked away on a quiet, gated private lane right off of Ali’i Drive. It is a safe and inviting residential neighborhood just two blocks away from the coastline. In just a few minutes, you can walk to Ali’i Gardens open-air marketplace for food and souvenirs or the Da Poke Shack, a local favorite for fresh fish. Turtle Beach, a secluded calm cove, is just a 5 minute walk away. The best parts of The Big Island are only accessible via car, so we recommend renting one for your visit. The Kumu House is 20 minutes from the Kona International Airport, and just a 5 min drive to Kahalu’u Beach Park for incredible snorkeling and Magic Sands for a day at the beach. In under 10 minutes, you can be in downtown Kailua-Kona where you can find many restaurants, shopping, and groceries.
