Property information

A historic home built by lumber baron Antoine E. Cartier, who came to the Ludington area from Quebec in 1852 to seek his fortune. In 1878 built this magnificent home for his wife, Eliza and their nine children. The Ludington House is a three-story, Queen Anne Victorian set on a beautifully landscaped corner lot on Ludington Avenue and Livinia. The unique features of the Ludington House include herringbone-patterned hard-wood floors, carved cherry and golden oak woodwork, 12-foot ceilings, ornate brass light fixtures that once were gas, a walnut staircase to the third floor, Italian marble fireplace and beautiful stained-glass windows.
