Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway on 10 acres. Built in 1768 as the farmhouse for a captain in the ulster county militia, the interior decor is 'rustic colonial farmhouse' to pay homage to the original pre-revolution farm. Second oldest wooden house in Ulster county. We stocked it with antiques from auctions, some of the dressers are 300 years old. The surrounding fields abound with wildflowers, blackberries, deer, owls, hawks, crickets, or fireflies.
I’m a bit of a history nerd who also enjoys hospitality & happy guests.
The neighborhood is wooded & quiet, with a mix of farms & residential houses. Wineries, apple orchards, farm stands. We are right between Main Streets in New Paltz & Gardiner, both about a 7 minute drive. The nearby rail trail or 'River Park Drive' are wonderful for morning jog or after-dinner walks.
