The owners Esther, Alison and Jon live in the UK and visit the house for two months every year when on holiday. While we are away the house is managed by Juanita Wilson of Gordon's Bay Stays, who is the main contact for renting the house. We, the team at Gordons Bay stay, have been managing holiday homes and welcoming guests for 10 years. Your comforts during your well-deserved holiday is very important to us. We are attentive and available, take care of details, and do all we can to ensure that you have a stress free vacation. Our offices are situated in the centre of Gordons Bay, and we also host the "tourism" for our area. Adventure activities, recommendations and advice are easy to access from us."

Property information

Located on Gordon’s Bay Mountainside, this stunning architect-designed property offers spectacular views. Luxuriously furnished and equipped in a contemporary open plan style with high ceilings, large living areas and floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that provide stupendous panoramic views from every room. The upper level of the house has two master bedrooms and two guest bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom and private balcony. The master bedrooms have a bath and shower in the open plan area allowing you to admire the view as you bathe. They also have TVs. One of the guest rooms has its own kitchenette area, making it self-contained. Down stairs you find the large open plan kitchen, dining room and lounge areas. The beautiful custom-made brass-topped dining table seats twelve people. The lounge offers a gorgeous, soft, sectional sofa facing a 60 inch television above a double-sided wood burning fireplace. The kitchen is fully-equipped and offers an induction hob and four ovens. Outside there is a covered balcony with braai/barbeque, again overlooking the sea, as well as a quiet shaded courtyard to the rear. The scullery/laundry contains fridge-freezer and facilities for washing and drying dishes and clothes. On this floor there are two more bedrooms, each with a private balcony. One bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and the other bedroom shares the bathroom next to it with the main living area. One level down takes you to the pool through the secure Trellidor, you find a fifteen-meter swimming pool that varies in depth between 1m and 1.8m, enabling real swimming. The pool has a bikini seat along most of its length, and the pool deck has four loungers and four deck chairs. Find a large TV lounge with soft seating and a kitchen area, surrounded on two sides by folding glass doors that open the room completely. Solar power and battery back up system so lights, TV, WiFi/internet, electric blinds and doors continue to operate during a power outage.

22 Protea Drive is in the quiet Mountainside residential area of Gordon's Bay, next to the nature reserve. There is a harbour and marina in Gordon's Bay with several restaurants to choose from. You can swim from Bikini Beach. Whales and dolphins can be seen in False Bay in season. Within easy driving distance are the winelands of Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Table Mountin and the metropolitan environment of Cape Town are one hour's drive away. The house is at the end of Clarence Drive, a spectacular scenic road along the coast that is great to drive or cycle. Gorgeous Gordons Bay offers so much to every visitor! From beautiful, sun-drenched beaches in high season with the most spectacular sunsets over False Bay, to cool, European winters that are perfect for roaring fireplaces and snuggling under blankets. Our beautiful coastal village hosts exceptional restaurants, coffee shops and stores offering everything from books to vacation keepsakes! Centrally located in the Helderberg, Gordons Bay is about 45 minutes from everywhere! Attractions abound with the winelands being a short step northward in Stellenbosch, whale watching towards the East in Hermanus and all the glitz and glamour of the mother city, Cape Town, a short jump to the South. Take in the most spectacular views of Gordons and False bays from the most prestigious addresses in the area. Nestled on the edge of the majestic Hottentots Holland mountains, the properties here offer the peace and tranquillity that only comes from being on nature’s doorstep. Almost every window has a magnificent view and every balcony is an eagle’s perch to watch some of the most gorgeous scenery that the Western Cape has to offer.
