About this property

This hotel is within easy walking distance, 300 metres, of the business centre, pubs and restaurants in Hermanus and less than a 10 minute walk from the town’s old harbour. From the harbour, you can watch the whales frolicking at close range; Hermanus is the perfect place for whale watching, as well as for diving, with sharks, and other activities. The area is ideal for bird watching and features beautiful natural environments which include various flora and fauna. There are also several golf courses within close proximity to the hotel. However the hotel offers a hypoallergenic outdoor swimming pool within an attractive courtyard, surrounded by an attractive sheltered walkway. The pool area is conveniently accessible from all of the rooms.

We at Baleia can offer you Unforgettable Hospitality. All our rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and under-floor heating. There is a shared dining area, lounge & bar and splash pool. All our guests are treated to a full English breakfast. Guests get free use of our Wi-Fi, and a safe at reception. You can walk to town and the foreshore leaving their vehicle safely parked. We want you to not only enjoy your stay here, but also to let you relax and take pleasure in sharing the area with us.
The whale peak season Is from mid July and by mid-November the whales will have started their long swim home the Antarctic although the odd sighting will still be possible. Would you like us to pre-empt the rush and make a booking for you on a Whale Watching boat trip? Also Shark Cage diving is very popular at that time of the year so a booking in advance is always advisable. We can arrange bookings for you. Other activities we deal with are Quad-Biking, Zip line riding and Tree Top Adventures as well as River Rafting. And we have 2 Animal petting farms to take the little ones to or our blue flag beach; Grotto Wine tours are available to some of the finest wineries in Cape as are Nature Hikes and a viewing of the Largest Carnivorous Plant in the world with its Fynbos friends.
