Treat your loved ones to a peaceful weekend or vacation in nature by booking one of our beautiful and comfortable self-catering houses. Delight in exquisite views of mountain and sea, pristine fynbos and the quietness of nature, while enjoying the luxury of elegantly furnished and fully equipped Blombos and Lobelia Self-catering Houses.
I live on Groeneweide Farm near Gansbaai with my husband and together we manage this exciting enterprise. Our three dogs (Rolo, Mia and Anna) are my constant companions and together we traverse the farm. My hubby loves his chickens, sheep and small herd of cattle. We love growing vegetables and fruits, and dream of a sustainable lifestyle. We have a lifetime of involvement with connecting nature, conservation and people and our dream is that this piece of land that we are the custodians of, will bring great joy to many people, animals and plants.
Gansbaai grew from a small fishing village to a bustling tourism town who claims the title 'shark capital of the world' due to the thriving shark cage diving industry. However, Gansbaai is also known for the Cape Floral Kingdom {fynbos}, abalone and whales, a long white beach and fishing. The coast is known for many shipwrecks and the most famous is the HMS Birkenhead when the 'women and children first' call was implemented the first time. The scenic road from Gansbaai to Bredasdorp meanders through the villages of Baardskeerdersbos and Elim, both worth a visit.
