Ladismith Country House is situated 7km outside of the town of Ladismith, alongside the Klein Swartberg mountains and on the popular R62. It is nestled amongst the mountains. It is a scenic, three hours drive from Cape Town or two hours drive from George Airport. The farm is a working sheep farm, situated on an area that can best be described as a nature lover’s paradise, offering a variety of birdlife, fynbos and succulents. We run a Bistro on the farm, that works on prior bookings. It provides wholesome home-cooking. Once a month, we run a spiritual retreat on the farm, with the focus on healing and emotional wellness. The retreat offers amongst others, yoga, hypnotherapy, eco psychology and meditation. So whilst you are taking in the sounds and smells of nature, why not book a hypnotherapy, counselling or yoga session with us? Some important points to note follows: Being a farm, the property is situated on a gravel road. As there are two ways to access the farm, one route has 7 km of gravel road, and the other 2km of gravel road. Most guests are comfortable arriving here in their cars whilst a select few, with low/sporty cars felt that the road was unsuitable for them. Note also, that mobile receptivity is poor on the farm as the farm is set amidst the mountains. The Karoo area is notorious for being dry, so during low/no rainfall periods, please note that the garden might not be very green. Also critical to note is that there are two types of accommodation on the farm that is (1) 5x En suite rooms and (2) a self catering unit (family bungalow) The rooms are situated at the main house whilst the self catering unit is about 100m from the main house and is very basic and rustic. So please double check your units/s carefully when booking to avoid disappointment. Let your journey to this beautiful piece of paradise begin.
