The no loadshedding villa is on a quiet small holding overlooking the stunning Oribi Gorge Nature Reserve. The perfect place for nature lovers, honeymooners, or those that seek to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life to surround oneself with nature but at the same time remain in luxury.
Enjoy the Gorge and river view, abundant birdlife, a beautiful garden, amazing sunrise/sunsets on our stunning large rock or simply enjoy sitting on the veranda whilst sipping your favourite drink and allow your thoughts and mind to drift away.
Take short hikes on the property or drive 6km to the Oribi Gorge Reserve for longer hikes. What makes this place unique is that thanks to solar backup, you will never be left sitting in the dark but instead can happily continue watching your favourite TV show / Netflix on the smart TV.
The main appliances of the house are connected to the solar inverter and on top of that, having a gas top hob allows no interruptions in meal preps when loadshedding happens. Thanks to the inverter the fans will never let you down even when ESKOM does.
In winter months the lovely inside wood fireplace makes it even more cozy and romantic as you can stare into the crackling fire from the reclining lounge chairs whilst snuggling under soft blankets. In warmer days the outside firepit and braai overlooking the Majestic Oribi Gorge mini amphitheater brings you into another dimension of rest and tranquility.
Both bedrooms can be set up for 2 single adults or as 1 Super King on request. Both bedrooms have an en-suite bathroom where the master bedroom has a walk-in shower, double basin and a large deep bath and toilet. The 2nd bedroom has a large walk-in shower, basin and toilet.
The villa shares a main gate entrance with the Mainhouse but has its own fenced in garden.
Being fully tiled makes it hypoallergenic.
Note: the villa is surrounded by a working farm and the property itself has 4 dogs, chickens and ducks.
We both enjoy the beauty of nature and decided to share our little paradise with like-minded people who enjoy peace and tranquility. We live onsite in the main house together with our 4 friendly dogs. We are originally from The Netherlands but after 23 years feel very much South African. Alfons enjoys riding his Mountain bike and happy to take anyone for a stunning ride, from beginners to advanced riders. Yvonne has a love for animals and nature and feels in her element surrounded by nature and wildlife. We both serve as Directors at a local Children's home for the past 23 years. We have 2 children of our own who are both adults now and live in the Cape.
Our secure small holding is situated on the edge of the Majestic Oribi Gorge Reserve and tucked in by Macadamia trees and sugarcane Farms. All within 25 min there are Game Farms, coffee shops, Spa, Restaurants, Blue flag beaches, Shopping Centers, Snake and Reptile parks, and Recreational Activities (Hiking, Mountain biking, Wild 5 adventures, Zip Lining, scootering, fishing, horse riding, boat rides, dolphin/whale watching, Cape vulture viewing to name a few). Lovely walks are possible on our small holding with Teatree, Gum trees and an indigenous bush with a small stream attracting lots of birds and wildlife (Zebra, Bushbuck, Duiker, Nyala, Jackals, Monkeys, Serval, Gennet cat).
The smallholding is reachable via a 4 km District gravel road and then another 500m on a single track through a Farm to get to our small holding. The Gravel roads are well maintained all year round but during the wet season can get muddy and need to be driven carefully. High/normal clearance vehicles are best suited.
