Property information

Oudekloof Farm lies at the foot of the age-old mountain pass from which its name has been taken and has been cultivated for more than three hundred years. The farm features over 100 hectares of indigenous plant species on the mountainside and valley below. Every winter abundant proteas, limestone pincushion and spiky leucadenrons create a wonderland of flora on the mountain slopes while ericas of all sizes and colours bloom year round. The simple elangance of Arum lillies and Chincherinchee adorn the fields below. Oudekloof also lies in the renosterveld biome, threatened elsewhere but protected on the farm. Entering the farm from the valley, you cross the Klein Berg river, creating a clear boundary between the pressures of city life and the splendid isolation of the farm. One can wander along the trails and farms roads undisturbed by schedules and routines. While doing so, remember that the farm is also the natural home and habitat to small wildlife. Occasionally you hear the baboons barking and disciplining their young, but they never come down to the homestead, and are therefore not a threat. The little Cape greybuck often enjoys an early morning or late afternoon stroll
