We bought the very special plot in Langebaan on which to build our guesthouse. Situated on a small wetland where numerous birds nest and congregate, our name came very naturally from the hundreds of African Red Bishop birds which nest there in Spring. We did most of the building work ourselves and guests love the unusual finishing touches like the reclaimed timber in the exposed roof structure, German 'schmeer' white cement finishes inside and out and the exposed copper piping. Rustic finishes with luxury furniture and memory foam mattresses ensure our guests have a comfortable and memorable stay.
From helping Marc with the building project, to doing the interior decorating, to ensuring the apartments are spotlessly clean, Juanita's eye for detail is a wonderful attribute for a guest house host. And from the reviews of our guests, it is clear that they appreciate her as a warm and inviting host as well. While discreet and giving guests space to relax, Juanita is always available to chat or to give advice on places to visit and activities to try during your stay. We do a contactless key handover but live just a few minutes away in case personal attention is needed by our guests.
Centrally situated in Langebaan 'Middedorp', the Red Bishop self catering guest house is within easy walking distance of the beach (8 minutes walk), local coffee shop (Weskus Coffees about 3 minutes walk), and numerous restaurants and shops. Red Bishop is in a quiet cul-de-sac and has a palisade fence front and back and motorised gate to ensure the safety of our guests. Whether for a beach visit, kite surfing base, or a central place from which to visit the flower hot spots in Spring, Red Bishop is the perfect place to stay during your Langebaan visit.
