Tenikwa has been in operation since 2007 and is one of the largest wildlife rehabilitation centres in the Western Cape of South Africa. It runs as a non profit organization. When you arrive at Tenikwa, you will feel very welcomed by the dedicated staff and you will notice how they will go out of their way to ensure that you have a wonderful time, and you fully understand the conservation projects that we are involved in.

Tenikwa is located in The Crags and situated on a magnificent 46 hectare property of pristine indigenous Tsitsikamma forest and Cape Floral Fynbos overlooking the majestic Tsitsikamma Mountain Range. Tenikwa Wildlife Rehabilitation and Awareness Centre is run from the property and during your stay, you will see many of the wild animals situated close to the accommodation. If you stay in our Lion Cabins, you can literally lie in bed and watch the lions! Our family suites are suitable for families and rooms in our Homestead are reserved for those adults wishing a bit more privacy. During your stay you can book a tour to see the indigenous wild cats of South Africa and other wildlife, with a discounted rate for overnight guests.

The Garden Route is a very popular tourist mecca for nature lovers and tourists who are after eco-adventure. Tenikwa is situated close to well known animal sanctuaries such as Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary, Birds of Eden, Crags Elephant Sanctuary. There are also lively eco-adventures close by like the award winning Afri-Canyon and Stormsriver Adventures. We are also 20 minutes drive from the very popular Robberg Penninsular, and Tsitsikamma National Park.
