Clean, super cheap, very helpful reception
The styling and decor of the hotel was very good. I liked the tatami in the room and the lounge provided on the first floor equipped with coffee, ice, water machine and microwave (great if you want to heat up a cheap meal from the supermarket). The was a young Indian man on reception who did a very good job helping me organise return of lost property from our previous hotel. Great location to shops and restaurants and not far from Gion.
Japanese style rooms Cheap
Everything was great, hotel was insanely cheap and we expected it to be "unmanned" but there were staff who were helpful, polite, and friendly in classic Japanese fashion. It's in a wonderful location kyoto wise, 10000 buddha statues are right around the corner, and everything else is in walking/quick train distance. It's cheap, clean and well maintained, there are free laundry machines, and they even lend you umbrellas!
Everything in this Guesthouse is exactly how and where is supposed to be. The Guesthouse it's full of books and traditional Japanese furniture that makes you feel at home. Furthermore, the owner himself keeps this place absolutely impeccable: from the organization of the flippers on the Genkan to the tidiness of the beds, everything in place! A nice plus is that there are very nice, cosy and cheap local restaurants in the neighborhood.
The bed was big and comfortable, the AC worked really well (which is really important this time of the year!) The bathroom was a good size and the size of the room was above average for Japanese standards. Staff were friendly and checking in was easy, you can also drop your bags off early if required. There is an amazing miso ramen shop on the corner of the street from the hotel, some of the best ramen I've had! The cheapest hotel we've found in Japan and easily one of the best in terms of standards as well
You get what you pay for with an Ibis. They are basic, but cheap. Always clean. The room was tiny, but as expected in Japan. It had all amenities we needed. The location is great.
Location is great, it is right accross theKyoto station. The best place to stay in Kyoto. I recommend Ibis Styles for travellers/tourists to stay in Ibis Styles. No hassle.
The name itself defines it, budget ibis everything they have is bedgeted
