The dinner menu is great and the breakfast is filling with lots of variety. It gave us a chance to try the different sorts of local cheese!

We stayed 2 nights beginning of June. If you like traditional places, you should visit Waldgasthaus Lehmen. You would be surrounded by natural forest with a view on Appenzell Alps. One of the most common sound during the day is various bells on cow necks. We were lucky to see how Appenzell farmers bring their cows to the mountains. The farmers have very beautiful cloths! On Saturday we saw a group of farmers, who came in their traditional dresses to Lehmen restaurant and had a few hours of singing and enjoying food. The restaurant is very good, if you like Swiss food. You must be hiking in that region, otherwise food might be too heavy. I had pork steak, pork schnitzel and beef steak with noodles and mushrooms. All dishes were very tasty. You have to try local beer! And Lehmen whisky! Highly recommended! Very nice! Service is impeccable, fast and attentive. All personnel is very friendly. Breakfast is wonderful! I would prefer, if it started at 7 instead of 8… Our room 17 was great, soft pillows, comfy beds, bath, simple but cozy design. The hotel has a playground for kids. Parking is huge.

We absolutely loved our stay. The location is perfect. Not far from the train station but still in the countryside. The beds were comfortable, the staff amazing, the breakfast healthy and fresh. We do not usually like to share bathrooms but there were a few on our corridor and it was absolutely fine. A big thank you for all!!!

A buffet breakfast is available at the inn. I liked the fact that it didn't feel like a hotel while still having all the amenities I'd expect from a hotel. The beds were also the comfiest I had on that part of my trip. The view from everywhere was gorgeous, but honestly that's just that entire region of Switzerland. What a beautiful country!
