I had visited Vichy a few years ago and found it well worth a second visit. The guesthouse is situated in a fin-the-siècle (not the last one of course) villa just outside of the stunning spa complex and a few minutes' walk from the Allier river. Warm welcome by nice host who showed us around, Cosy, spacious room, nice lounge where you can prepare and eat your own meals. If there are other guests (there weren't) you share the lounge with them. Hygiene 100%. Good beds, shower a bit underpowered but nothing to complain about really. Adequate breakfast. Host would have been glad to look after our luggage until we left in the afternoon, but unfortunately had to leave for the day herself; her friend at the supermarket across the street was so kind to keep our bags, which is saying something about the atmosphere here. Easy, straightforward 15 minutes walk from the train station. Tip: follow the Avenue de Paris from the station and not the Gambetta as suggested by Google, not that it's bad but the Paris is much nicer and perhaps 10 seconds slower. Recommended.

Communication with the owner was excellent. The house presented well outside and in. There was everything we needed. It's very close to town, a short walk to everything. Street parking was not an issue. There was a very good restaurant, Restaurant 68, literally round the corner.

This was the best accommodation from all our vacations in France - not just an accommodation, but a place with soul. Everything was top notch - the room with the nice decorations, the great bathroom with double sinks, bath and shower, the domain’s garden and the great views from the top hill. But what impressed us were Brigitte and Pascal, the home owners and the soul of the domain. Special thanks for the great breakfasts and dinners that Pascal was preparing for us and Brigitte was so warmly attending. We’ll be coming back for sure!
