This is the perfect ryokan experience. The room and private outdoor bath looked out onto a small garden and the forest. We didn’t think my son would be able to use the onsen because he has tattoos but they said it wouldn’t be a problem and this made the stay extra special. We had half board and the evening meal was amazing. Our own dining space and lots of lovely food. Service was excellent. Breakfast was also good.

The house is fabulous. The whole place feels like a work of art -- traditional but modern at the same time, and very clean. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The place got everyone one might need. The best part is that the price is less than most of the single-room hotels.

Lovely place, just outside the tourist area. Very easy accessible by 2 train stations. With a few steps you are in the middle of nature and must see temples. By train you are in Kyoto in 25 mins. The house has everything you need, the onsen is just perfect.

The staff at the reception desk was extremely friendly and attentive and helped us a lot with our stored luggage and the questions we had about transportations in and around the city. Staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful Hotel prepared many activities eg origami, free traditional clothing experience (yukata not kimono lol) Hotel is v thoughtful n provided maps n food recommendations, and set up a weather forecast whiteboard. Convenient place, few stops from kyoto stn n other attractions, lawson n restaurants nearby, nice location Highly recommend 11/10 this is by a guest not the staff 😉 We stayed 2 nights there n thoroughly enjoyed it. The room is cozy and the table can be shifted to make space for the futon beds at night. The beds are mattresses on the ground but they are really comfortable and we had a good rest. If ur not used to this then it may feel small for u cuz it's 1 multipurpose room not 1 room with many sections The staff came up and taught us how to set the beds up and they were rly nice and even chatted with us and gave us food recommendations. The staff there are very nice and can speak many languages. They can also help u set the beds everyday if u want There are 4 options for breakfast but you can still order the same one everyday as they do change the dishes while keeping the main meal. For example the soup or side dishes are changed everyday. There are many Japanese activities in the hotel. For example, you can fold origami with the colourful papers and guide books provided.

Such friendly and kind staff- let my friends leave their luggage there too. Such a beautiful room and modern facilities. Enjoyed using the jacuzzi and they had the sweetest kimono bath robe to relax in after. Would definitely recommend. Fantastic location too right by the Riverside in Gion and only a few min walk from station. Thank you for a wonderful stay ❤️
