What’s not to like… we had the best room in the ryokan, super spacious room, had a huge bathroom, shower and a private open air onsen. We had a living room and a bedroom, the space we had was probably bigger than our apartment back home! Dinner and breakfast was beautifully presented, I literally was so relaxed I lost myself there. Wish I booked it for more than one night!

Room was very clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly, cheerful and helpful Hotel prepared many activities eg origami, free traditional clothing experience (yukata not kimono lol) Hotel is v thoughtful n provided maps n food recommendations, and set up a weather forecast whiteboard. Convenient place, few stops from kyoto stn n other attractions, lawson n restaurants nearby, nice location Highly recommend 11/10 this is by a guest not the staff 😉 We stayed 2 nights there n thoroughly enjoyed it. Read my 10 page essay here: awesome place the rooms are clean and comfortable. The room was actually very literally spotless. The room is cozy and the table can be shifted to make space for the futon beds at night. The beds are mattresses on the ground but they are really comfortable and we had a good rest. If ur not used to this then it may feel small for u cuz it's 1 multipurpose room not 1 room with many sections The staff came up and taught us how to set the beds up and they were rly nice and even chatted with us and gave us food recommendations. The staff there are very nice and can speak many languages. They can also help u set the beds everyday if u want There are 4 options for breakfast but you can still order the same one everyday as they do change the dishes while keeping the main meal. For example the soup or side dishes are changed everyday. There are many Japanese activities in the hotel. For example, you can fold origami with the colourful papers and guide books provided.

Location was ideal. Right in the heart of Gion near restaurants and train stations. A short walk to the main shopping precinct and Nishiki Market. Very friendly staff. The chocolate shop a couple doors down is very good!

Great place to stay! Excellent location, lovely rooms and very helpful staff. The staff were very friendly and helped where we needed. The futons were great. Bathrooms were excellent and the laundry facilities very helpful. Terrific place to stay in Kyoto. Very close to convenience stores, restaurants, shops and transport.

The refurbished house itself and our apartment for 6 people was excellent From early luggage storage and check-in, keys collection till check out. Everything is new and in top condition. Massage chair was surprise. Room with tatami and another with double bed were comfortable. Too high-end toilets, shower and outside bathtub. Even switches controlling lights were unordinary. Kitchen well equiped. I would like to come back and for sure will recommend. Location was also very comfortable, short distance to train and convinient stores.
