Don't know even where to start as experiance with Kind Yala was unforgettable! At the beggining I was a bit afraid as the hotel is situated in the jungle behind fence under electricity (due to elephants) and we were the only quests! So if you have similar worries, don't! Every person from the staff was absolutely great, helpful and very friendly. They tried their best to make your stay as best as its possible. I must mention the manager who organized everything for us and was avaliable under whatsapp all the time for us! They also organized a suprise dinner with bonfire and romantic atmosphere which was simply perfect!! Food was amazing no matter if this was breakfast, lunch or dinner - nicely presented, very tasty, variety od choice, made with love. The tent/bungallow looks exactly as on the photos - pretty large, clean, had everything you need, good air con, comfortable large bed. At night you could hear jungle voices which was pretty amazing. On a day of arrival staff organized a bike trip for us - to avoid getting lost one person came with us a a quide! Last but not least - next day they organize mini safari and later a main safari which was another wonderful experiance - we saw many animals including elephants, crocodiles and even leopard! Overall this was the best stay of that kind I ever had, dont hesitate and try King Yala! I bet you wont regret!!!

Beautiful property, right at the beach

Staying here felt like luxury for us, everything seems to be brand new and with a clean and modern furniture. Room was huge, and we didn't expect to have a bath with nice hot water. The place is very peaceful surrounded by the forest, and just 15 minutes from kataragama temple complex, which is a must see during sunset time.. I really would have spent a week just here!

This is a wonderful place to stay; fantastic if you are on a budget and understand the facilities are basic. There is electricity, warm water and a comfortable bed...in a fabulous location with fabulous hosts. You will see an array of wildlife (porcupine, bats, crocs, elephants and exotic birds). Danoushka and Anousha were warm, welcoming and kind. We loved our stay here and felt part of nature. Anousha cooks delicious Sri Lankan food and Danoushka is knowledgeable about the local area; We went on a tuk tuk drive with him to see various temples and sites of historic importance - a highlight of our stay in Sri Lanka. My husband also did an early morning bird spotting safari on the back of a motor bike which enabled him to take some close shots of the abundant bird life. Jungle cabin gave us the experience of "real" Sri Lanka and, as a middle aged couple, it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with the hosts and enjoy their home. We would not hesitate to recommend this as a rustic place to stay...make the most of Danoushka's local and wildlife knowledge and...enjoy the tranquility.

Top Service, from the first minute until the end! Refreshment at arriving, were allowed to stay in our room half an hour longer than the safari was (organised by them as well and breakfast take a way possibility) Live Cocktail mixing, wonderful Pool (maybe a bit to warm) Dinner as buffet was nice!

Such a beautiful place to enjoy with wildlife in luxurious way. Service unconditional even given dinner at 11.30pm and ready with breakfast at 5.00am in the morning. Manager Amit was ready to serve us with his best possible way. He was available at all the times even in the morning when we’re ready to for Yala Safari and made breakfast for us at 5.00am morning. Pool is very clean and quite big, Sunset at Kaaya made our stay beautiful. Kaaya provides authentic Sri Lankan cuisine and on demand can be prepared other’s cuisine too. We’re enjoying the night with Barbecue pool side and amazing melody for Sri Lankan music. Spacious rooms, clean bathrooms, quality linens, extra ordinary hospitality and lake frontage makes this place outstanding. I believe only Kaaya has more than 200m lake frontage with space of more than 3.25 acres land.
