The hotel's restaurant is great and offers amazing food made with local ingredients. Also their signature cocktails were delicious.

Hostel beds had curtains covering the entire length. Had a hot tub and sauna. Staff were all super friendly. Awesome food at the restaurant

The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge.

The bright, modern rooms feature wooden floors and private bathrooms. Some include either a terrace or balcony. The surrounding views take in the Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes. The junior suite was a lovely little private yellow cabin with views over the snowy surroundings and a little river. The host was super nice, I had made a mistake about the dates and i was able to change it on the fly. I have to highlight, of course, the amazing hot tub, what a treat :-)
