The accommodation offers 4-star accommodation with a sauna, hot tub and hot spring bath. The staff were absolutely incredible; we had to have our bags shipped down to Osaka due to smaller stops in Tokyo and Mt Fuji (too short to be able to guarantee the bags would arrive on time) which is a crazy distance. The ladies at the Information Centre were able to explain the process for this and even drew us a map to get to the shuttle bus to the train station and encouraged us to take a jacket and do a practice walk the night before. The tour we booked was also fantastic, and the food and local beer was great too. The room was incredible; it was so affordable for the space you're given and relaxing in the onsen overlooking the ballpark was an unforgettable experience, they even have snacks and a bar! Everyone we came across was so lovely, even other people staying were interested to hear about our trip as it's not a common place to find foreigners.

The spacious apartment has 2 bedrooms, a flat-screen TV, a fully equipped kitchen with an oven and a microwave, a washing machine, and 2 bathrooms with a walk-in shower. The air-conditioned unit at the property features a hot tub and a dressing room. This apartment is non-smoking and soundproof. This is a gem!! Everything we needed was here.

As our room was on the 1st floor, it was close to the ski lockers and on the same floor as the onsen and the connecting corridor to the main resort. While the hotel does not have its own restaurant, there is a cafe which serves free coffee in the morning, and the walk to the main resort and other restaurants was not too far in my opinion (5-10 minutes' walk, all indoors). We took a free shuttle bus from Sapporo to the hotel (around 2 hours).

The master chef, Mr, Ito was exceptional. I have traveled several countries with well-known gastronomy including France one month ago and Italy 2 weeks ago. Food at Chalet Ivy was by far the best. It should be on the Michelin star restaurant list.
