One of the Hakuba ski resorts is in walking distance and the food at dark horse was outstanding. The hotel is super clean, beds are incredibly comfortable, it’s nice and and warm everywhere, and dogs are welcome. We’ll be coming back for sure.

Fantastic customer service. They helped us with local transportation and answered all of our questions. The property is perfect with its cleanliness and premium furniture.

Extras include slippers and free toiletries. Guests will also find 2 kashikiri (private use) baths at the property. In addition, dry cleaning and laundry services are provided free of charge. We arrived and were lucky enough to get upgraded to a cabin lodge for part of our stay. Nao and the team were fantastic from start to finish. We were provided the most DELICIOUS 3 course breakfast every morning. Nao even lent my partner and I goggles for the snow which we forgot to hire. Nao made recommendations for the mountains/snow conditions each day and dinner recommendations. Upon check out we were dropped off to the bus station as well. We will definitely be back when we next come to Japan. Thank you Nao for an unforgettable stay!!

Super delicious breakfast, healthy and freshly homemade muffins, scones etc. Friendly host and wonderful ski community.

A 10-minute drive from Hakuba Happo-One Winter Ski Resort, Pension Tomato offers spacious Western-style rooms with a loft area. Free WiFi is available at the entire property and guests can reserve a private open-air bath overlooking the forest. A free shuttle is available from JR Hakuba Train Station, which is a 5-minute drive away and must be reserved at time of booking. Forest views are available from the 2nd floor of the accommodation. Close to the main road, amazingly friendly staffs, good size room with bath. Fridge, washing machine, ensuite bath, big kitchen space were available. We had 4 single beds in our room and was big enough for all 4 of us. The bed was comfortable too. The onsen in the shared area was also nice. You had to make reservations in advance to secure a 45min slot. One was only inside but the other had both inside and outside baths.

Each accommodation at the 2-star ryokan has quiet street views, and guests can enjoy access to a public bath. The ryokan features family rooms. We had an incredible stay here. The rooms were nice and authentic, the traditional breakfast was amazing and the personnel were the nicest people ever. When we had to call them to tell them we were gonna be late for check in, they said they will pick us up at the bus station. And they offered to drive us around many times. They were super nice and made our stay even better.

Three of us stayed here for 5 days. We had the best time! The accommodation was extremely clean and comfortable with great facilities, including a storage area for all of our ski and snowboard gear. There’s also a bus station right down the street that takes you to Iwatake (which you can then transfer to another bus that takes you to every resort.) The best part were the owners — they were so kind and welcoming even though we did not speak Japanese. They cooked us breakfast and dinner and both were so delicious. We highly recommend and would definitely stay again! Thank you so much for the wonderful stay😁

The chalet has an outdoor fireplace and a hot tub. Lovely and cosy lodge close to the action in Hakuba. All details were perfect. Loved the touch of the illustrated postcards left as a gift for each of our guests!

Michelle was such a warm and accommodating host that it felt more like a homestay than a hotel. Our room was very comfortable and clean (excellent shower pressure, and we slept deeply in the bed!) We enjoyed the hearty breakfast every morning before skiing.
