The kaiseki dinner was also amazing! All in all, a very nice ryokan in a good location for seeing the snow monkeys.

Hosts are amazing - picked us up from Yudanaka station and dropped us back, same with the monkey park. Made everything so easy for us. Ryokan has indoor and outdoor onsens, the outdoor onsen is private. We used it at night when it was snowing and it was magical. Plenty of eateries close by, although the hours vary for each. Make sure you have cash as many don't accept cards.

Some staff spoke English and went out of their way to make the experience memorable. The onsen is natural hot springs with nice sulfur smell. Loved every second of this place. Would happily return.

Amazing property with even more amazing staff. We stayed for two night during our honeymoon and couldn’t be happier with the experience. It was an authentic yet luxurious Ryokan. Our room was beautifully decorated, spotless and it even had its own onsen. The food was exceptional and the staff was very well trained and extremely friendly. Highly recommended this hotel and would love to go back on day.

Great location within walking distance to snow monkey park and local town. Well appointed and spacious villa. Excellent breakfast and dinner, the latter was in the form of a tasting menu so had the opportunity to explore Japanese cuisine that we wouldn't normally opt for. On our second night we had the place to ourselves so it felt very special.

The decor could be interpreted as dated (as other reviews have stated) but we felt this simply adds to the warmth and cosiness of the establishment. The service here is seriously next level and it is fantastic value for money.

Featuring family rooms, this property also provides guests with a children's playground. Authentic Japanese experience. This is a family-run hotel with various offered services. Ski renting and lesson can be done at the hotel. Ken is truly an amazing teacher. Very patient and encouraging. We booked 3 lessons with him and very satisfied. As for food, we opted for half board option and find that the dinners, in every nights we stayed, are delicious and nutritional. Ski-in/ski-out is very convenient. The ski lift is right in front of the hotel. The Sun Valley area is also great for both beginner and intermediate skiers with green/red/black slopes in one area. On weekdays, there are almost no people there, which is nice if you want to practice or learn to ski. The bus stop to the city and other areas is only 100m away. The 24-h onsen is perfect after a tiring day of skiing. The family's hospitality is unmatched. I broke my glasses and Captain helped me fix them :) they literally have everything. Highly recommend!
