Koyasan
Rooms feature tatami-mat flooring, comfortable futon bedding and paper sliding screens. They are fitted with an LCD TV and a safe. Bathroom facilities are shared, and the public baths are open 16:00-22:00 and 06:00-09:00 daily. Staying at Eko-in was an exceptional and unforgettable experience. I highly recommend booking the Okunoin cemetery night tour—it was both atmospheric and deeply moving. The meals are fully vegetarian and beautifully presented. If you're not a fan of tofu, some of the dinner dishes might not be to your taste—but that, too, is part of the cultural and spiritual experience. I was initially anxious about sleeping on a traditional futon, but it turned out to be surprisingly comfortable and added to the overall sense of authenticity. A truly unique stay.

It is located 29 km from Kamitonda Concert Hall and features full-day security. The guest house has parking on-site, a hot tub and a shared kitchen. Ike is an exceptional host. He is incredible friendly, generous and helpful. The place itself is spotless, with nice and clean rooms. The food was great and an extra plus for that all the guests were able to eat dinner and socialize around a large table. We had a lot of laughs even if we couldn't speak a word in Japanese. Ike facilitated and gave us all an unforgattable evening.

The property has inner courtyard and quiet street views, and is 40 km from Subaru Hall. The guest house features family rooms. Our stay at Fuki Juku was undeniably a highlight of our trip to Japan! The charming hosts picked us up at the Hashimoto Train Station and drove the 30 minutes to their guesthouse, with a stop at a beautiful view for pictures. The pick up and drop off is included in their rate. We were fortunate in that our family of four were the only guests that night and we had the whole floor to ourselves. At 6:30pm the most amazing dinner was ready and presented artistically with a touch of folk art and nostalgia to create a memorable atmosphere. After dinner we had fireworks (sparklers) and then walked through the peaceful village. Breakfast was equally delightful and then they brought us to Koya for photos and dropped us off at the information centre in Koyasan. The service and hospitality was above and beyond and was a wonderful way to get started on our Kohechi Trail in Kumano Kodo!! This was a truly unique Japanese experience away from the tourist areas. We highly recommend it!

The room was was very spacious for Japanese standards. Very clean with a very nice bathroom too.
Amazing place to stay. The views from the balcony are breathtaking, even more so with a cold draught beer after a hike. The staff were all so welcoming and friendly. There were so many spaces to sit and relax and things to look at. The owner was such a warm, funny guy that entertained everyone. The dinner was one of the best meals I've had in Japan and the breakfast was also great. Room was very comfortable with a stunning a view. I would highly recommend. Best place we've stayed at so far.
It a beautiful temple, it is very well kept. The room was very spacious and comfortable, all in tatami floor, tastefully decorated, very clean and well maintained, with aircon available and even a TV. I loved that there was a complimentary tea, a yukata and a toothbrush. The temple has a bath (onsen) available and a morning prayer ceremony.
The location is right at the Shirarahama beach - just walk across the street. The onsen is very large with indoor and outdoor sections. The hot foot baths in every room were quite relaxing, especially after a long day walking/running. The common kitchen area is very spacious where even 30 people can hang out together. There is a separate smoking lounge too.
Very spacious family room. Big kitchen and hangout space. Well stocked kitchen appliances, great bathroom with tub, washing machine and big shoe cabinet to use. Short cut via back lane, thru an open park space and then pass through a nice typical Japanese school to reach the wonderful Kumano Cafe and rugged coastline overlooking Benten Island. Short stroll to the center and cruise jetty. Very responsive host and very organised.
We loved this resort. The family room was beautiful, designed like a house and with plenty of space. There were beautiful views from every room, including the bathroom. Dinner and breakfast were both buffets with plenty of options and delicious food, I highly recommend including those. The staff were incredibly helpful and we easily booked time in one of the private onsens. This was superb! The water was incredible and the surroundings were beautiful, so easy to relax and enjoy.
50m from the beach, a big room with a foot bath on the balcony, an on-site Onsen, free parking, helpful staff and it has a distinctive Japanese character. It’s a little worn but that’s no problem. If it rains, you have the Onsen, table tennis and pool and a spacious lounge.
We had an amazing stay at the guest house Suzumeno Kakurembo, we rent the studio with private bathroom and the studio was really spacious and cosy, the bed was also very confortable. We also appreciate the comfort of the private bathroom with bathtub and enjoy relaxing in a hot bath in the evening. I also recommand going to the restaurant downstairs owned by them, we had a great time!
Room was relatively spacious for a Japanese business hotel. The onsen was not crowded most of the time, and there is a window in the main indoor bath area so it does not feel super stuffy, so it all added up to be very relaxing. I also liked that the hotel provides a free ice cream bar (at night) or yakult (in the morning) for guests to enjoy after the onsen. Also, Dormy Inn's signature free ramen during late night hours is always much appreciated.
