Soon, this will be an impressive focal point for the city again. Right now, though, it's just a huge construction site. So skirt round it, being careful of the traffic, to visit the National History Museum or catch a performance at the National Theatre. Or climb the clock tower to view the work in progress and the equestrian statue of national hero, Skanderbeg.

This is lovely and a must for Tirana. This is the main hero of Albania. It's a really quaint square with a carrousel. You can get to all points in the center from here. I recommend the restaurant pastaria.Guest review byII - 10.0

This was the centre of the universe during our visit. While we were in Tirana they were setting up a fun fair for the Christmas season. It was also during the football world cup, so they set up a giant screen and fanscene.
