This is probably one of the best options you can get in Luxor. The hotel offers comfortable rooms and a restaurant with very much delicious local food. The owner is a good host and the hotel staff is polite and helpful. You can and probably even should use an opportunity to order excursions to numerous local attractions: they are not really cheap (by Eastern European measures, not applicable if you are from US/UK/Western Europe) but you totally get what you pay for. You will get a local driver with a decent car who will drive you to the attractions and wait for you while you explore them. They have a pool, but I did not use it because had just 3 days in Luxor and no time to chill. The location is perfect if you want (and you do if you came to Luxor) to explore Kings Valley, Queens Valley and Hatshepsut Temple - the hotel is located just by Memnon Colossi and it will take you almost no time to reach those sites. To sum up, if you plan to visit Luxor, I advise to consider this hotel. You won't be disappointed.

A oasis of peace. Great tranquil place to stay and not just see all that Luxor has to offer, but also to relax. All the staff were very kind and attentive, the food was good and plentiful. If you need a tour or transportation, it will be organized reliably for a fair price, but nobody pushes you to buy anything. Some sights are even in walking distance. Absolutely safe for solo female travellers. If I ever come back to Luxor, I'll choose this place again!

The attractions are wonderful.. few tips, very pushy market stall holders!! your entry ticket fee includes 3 tombs but not the ‘big name’ tombs that’s an extra cost.. options once inside entry gate either walk the hill or pay again for golf buggy transfer.. there is provision for wheelchairs but not one for hire.. the security guards at each tomb are lovely and will assist you, most speak good English. WC facilities are questionable, the cafe at the tomb entrance is out of action so take water with you.

    Spectacular place to visit.

Spectacular place to visit. Not as awe inspiring as the Pyramids of Giza, but perhaps a bit more interesting. They charge a bit more to enter the King Tut tomb......pay it. You won't be disappointed.

no need to engage the hustling tour guides as all the tombs open to the public are together. well signed posted and all the information they impart is in the Lonely Planet Guide book. As they cannot enter the tombs they assume their credibility is to sell you expensive photo packs and arrange a generous gift for them after the conclusion of the tour

6am-10am is the best time to visit the tombs.

6am-10am is the best time to visit the tombs. Don't buy the Luxor premium Pass ( 220 euros for adult and 110 euros for student- it would be half price if you bought Cairo Pass already) as it isn't worth it, (it is supposed to cover the tomb of Nefertari but the tomb is closed atm). They haven't provided us any information about what are included in the Luxor Pass or the Premium Pass. Only one advantage is not to be queued at the entrance to the tombs.

Be aware of the entry fees.

Be aware of the entry fees. Set I alone was an extra 1800LE - nearly £28 per person - the cost per person for all the tombs, including Tutankhamun was £46 each!! Set I was very good, Tut's tomb just had his remains in it. The rest is in the Egyptian Museum.

A ticket only gets you into a few tombs and which ones are open rotates. King Tut is a separate ticket. Not the most exciting tomb (since he died young there wasn't much time to make a big tomb), but his mummy is there.

There were very few foreign tourists (Feb 2015) as numbers have not yet recovered since the revolution and we didn't have to queue even in the Valley of the Kings and had many sights to ourselves so I recommend you go soon.
