The room was beautiful. The food and drink was exceptional. The location was lovely and refreshing. Lot's of lovely walks by the Estuary and in the country and plenty of bar and café options nearby. A brilliant place. 10/10

The room was huge and the bathroom spectacular. All of the staff were extremely polite and responsive from the moment we checked in and were helped with our bags. The food was great and the location in the heart of Dedham Vale stunningly beautiful.

Check in by Katie was brilliant considering we had made an error. A compliment to the hotel. Doreen the lady who served us breakfast was excellent as well. The staff are all very good. This is a recommended value for money stay.

The staff were extremely helpful, especially the reception and restaurant staff. The blonde female restaurant manager (apologies as I didn’t get her name) and Lionel went above and beyond to accommodate our group of 14 people for meals and drinks and even set up the table in the outdoor marquee to ensure we could all be seated together for breakfast. The rooms in the main building were big, nicely decorated and the beds were really large and comfortable. It was also extremely quiet! The grounds of the hotel were very well kept and a nice place for a morning walk in the sun or to play outside with my 2 year old. We were really happy to have a safe, clean space for him to run around in. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay again!

    Lovely quiet accommodation, great location and facilities. Nicely decorated and had everything we needed for 2 nights. Friendly owners and happy for us to use the wider garden for our dog who enjoyed a nose around! During our stay we visited Flatford Mill, Walton-on-the Naze and Frinton on Sea

    Lovely location near Dedham and Flatford mill. Sparkling clean and classy furniture and fittings. The spa is lovely and was included. Breakfast at Milsoms was superb, cannot really be beaten in this type of hotel and not over stuffy.

    We loved the peace & quiet, great location to visit Flatford, Dedham & lots of beautiful old villages. Jimmy is very quick to respond to any messages, he gave us good tips on where to eat. There was complementary tea, coffee, milk & even some fruit. Some garden flowers were left on the kitchen table, a real homely touch. The garden area was a pleasure to sit in. Loved the bird theme within the cottage. We had a very pleasant stay & thoroughly recommend a stay at the Bird House.

    The food was excellent. The pub is in the middle of the village so was in an ideal position for the walk to Flatford Mill (as long as the river level was not too high). There was parking for residents.

    We loved the homely feel and it was extremely well-equipped (the best property I’ve ever stayed at for facilities) and very comfortable. The location was great as it was in the middle of the countryside and very peaceful but you can walk into the village in half an hour along a pavement. It’s a great base for exploring Constable country and there are some lovely walks, especially the one to Flatford and back. It completely surpassed all our expectations and we would love to return. Amanda, the host, is very welcoming and attentive.

    Lovely place to stay, our room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts and evening meals were excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideal location for walking along the Dedham Vale to Flatford Mill where the scenery is stunning. Would definitely stay at The Marlborough again.
