Every single member of staff greeted us with warmth and genuine enthusiasm. They had the perfect balance between friendly and professional. The food was exquisite - the produce superb and each component of every dish was prepared to perfection and brought together with great skill. My only suggestion would be to serve some warm bread with meals like many parts of Europe. As the food style is quite minimal (think Michelin) a little bread would fill that gap! The rooms are flawless in design and execution. Soft fluffy towels in new but classically styled bathrooms. Super comfortable beds and two styles of pillows. Thoughtful touches like fresh milk and biscuits for tea and still and sparkling water refreshed daily. The entire house is decorated with great taste in period decor. You feel like the Lord and Lady of the house! The gardens and sunsets are to behold. You cannot possibly be disappointed with this magnificent property.

The most amazing place to spend the night. Dinner & breakfast were absolutely delicious, the service and hospitality was amazing, couldn’t have asked for a more glamorous place to stay. The walks around the lake were stunning!

Really lovely cottage with amazing views. We loved our stay here. It was cosy and had everything you need as well as great walks around the lake.

Every room was so spacious - especially the main bedroom with that wonderful bathroom. All beds were comfy. The kitchen was really well equipped. The lounges were so comfy and we loved having the open fire. The location was perfect for walking straight from the cottage.

Peniarth is located in Pen-y-bont-fawr, 32 km from Whittington Castle, 38 km from Chirk Castle, and 45 km from Dolforwyn Castle. The property is non-smoking and is set 15 km from Lake Vyrnwy.

The family who own the property are lovely, and they live in the house to which the property is attached. It is a working farm. Also the farmyard cat is super cute and friendly. It was lambing season and there were wonderful lambs leaping about in the fields by the property and their mothers' bleating was a soundstrack to my stay. There is plenty of wonderful walking to be done right from the door, and also from a short drive, to Lake Vyrnwy for example, or to Pistyll Rhaeadr. The post office / shop in the village is well stocked for your basic needs and has lovely staff. The lovely village of Llan Rhaeadr has great facilities with a cafe in the post office that does wonderful coffee and bacon baps, as well as a good Spar shop, and pubs which I didn't get to visit on this occasion, but will in the future. Back to the apartment - it is comfortable, clean, well-provisioned and has lovely views. But the hosts are the best thing - super lovely people.
