What can I say, from the minute you step in the door the fire is so inviting. We had our wedding ceremony at 3.45pm and the hotel made sure our room was ready on time, we had a welcome glass of champagne as well as the hotel bringing us a bottle to our room. Stunning view, modern decor, nespresso machine, immaculate and a Dyson hairdryer shows the quality and attention to detail in this hotel. Thanks to all who made our stay special ❤️

The location was absolutely perfect — right in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town. Almost everything I wanted to explore was within a 15–20 minute walk, which made my stay super convenient. The surrounding vibe was lively yet charming, with historic streets and attractions all around. I really appreciated how easy it was to get around without needing transport.

Lots of fun things to see and do and just a nice place to hang out. Loads of lunch spots; we would recommend the Whiskey and Haggis arcade and suggest try the Robert Burns Famous Haggis with whiskey sauce; one portion is enough for 2 people.

    The real St Mary's Close.

The real St Mary's Close. Amazing "Museum" which is actually a series of uncovered streets that were originally built beneath the current road, below the town. When the plague hit, the poor were entombed there. The history of it was mind-boggling. A must to see. The Mile itself just great to walk, stop, sip a drink or two. The Dome restaurant and Bars wonderous at Xmas. Fantastic array of external and internal Christmas lights, trees.

The outside of the hotel is very underwhelming and doesn't really look like a hotel but once inside the lobby /reception is lovely. The breakfast set up and choices were very good. The location to the station and Royal Mile was excellent. Cass who was one of the front desk team was very attentive and helpful. Our room was nice and comfortable.

Nice little apartment but there is only access to a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. Location for omni centre and theatre really good. About a 30/40 min walk to the royal mile. Good bus and tram routes 5 min walk away. Were lucky enough to get parked outside and as we were there at the weekend it was free, however if you're there during the week it's £4.20 per hour to park between 8.30-5.30 Monday to Friday.

Very nice stuff, lovely location, cosy pods with lots of space. It was nice to see how everyone tried to be silent in the sleeping rooms and everyone looking out for each other. The facilities were clean, what else could you wish for in a hostel? :) The location at St. Giles was amazing, 6 mins from Waverley station, exactly on the Royal Mile. Would recommend to everyone, especially solo travellers (felt very save as a woman, too)!

What a fantastic apartment, the location could not be any better, out of the front door and straight on the Royal Mile!! The apartment has everything that you need and is very spacious comfortable and clean. Make sure you are aware of the steps to get to the third floor, wasn't an issue for us but may put some people off. Hosts were very informative and accommodating before arrival. There is nothing bad to say about this place.

Get away from the Royal Mile where tourists come to snap endless photos of token bag pipers wearing kilts. Walk to the Stockbridge neighborhood, full of beautiful flats, interesting shops and cafes. Walk to the old side of the city underneath the castle for pub crawling.

Walking from the Castle down the Royal Mile to Holyrood House with the new Parliament en route takes some beating in terms not just of historical content but also of ease of travel-it's a straight downhill walk. On the way talk to people-some of the locals actually know a lot about their City and take a pride in it.

St. Giles on the Royal Mile is several hundreds of years old. My family attended a pipe organ recital there one evening. What an awesome and thunderous sound that huge organ made, but could produce the most delicate melodies as well. Highly recommend taking some time to study the beautiful architecture as well as the gorgeous stained glass windows and the history surrounding this or any cathedral, for there is always a history to be known.

As a city Edinburgh is steeped in history, all the areas off the Royal Mile has a tale to tell. The city offers a number of good tours both by bus and feet for getting to know the past and how people lived. The city also offers an insight to famous personalities of the past such as Sir Walter Scott, Robert Louis Stevenson and Rabbie Burns
