What a miserable place the Irish Ferries terminal building is. It has a toilet so it is useful while you wait for the apparently uncaring ferry company to permit you to board their late-departing expensive ferry. It displays confusing departure information (I saw bafflement on many foot passengers faces as they got off the bus from Dublin and tried to understand what ship was due to sail. There was only one sailing but they had info about two!) There is also a cafe which I entered and left a couple of minutes later. It looked like how I imagine a prison canteen might be. And don't think onboard cuisine will be OK. It's horrible. Buy a take-away sandwich or two from a supermarket in the city. It'll not only taste better but save you a lot of money. Or use Stena instead. At least they have comfortable seats on board.

We arrived Saturday Morning, there were very few taxi's available. Had to order an Uber, took 20 minutes, in that time, multiple taxi's came by the arrivals gate. All very well ordered, no hassles

Watch the weather the day you use the ferry.

Watch the weather the day you use the ferry. Dress accordingly because they have NO facilities, not even an awning. You will be standing out in the rain. And they want you there 30 mins early so be prepared. We stood out in a cold drizzle for 45 mins. Will NEVER do that again.

Took the Stena Line to Holyhead.

Took the Stena Line to Holyhead. The nicest ferry I have ener been on. In Holyhead, it drops you off right at the train station, but when you return to Dublin, make sure you have the Free Now app to call a taki otherwise you might get stuck waiting a while.
