Piazza dell'Anfiteatro
This iconic elliptical plaza started life as a 1st-century Roman amphitheatre. Over the years, gladiatorial battles gave way to a prison, shops and even vegetable patches, before the structure was finally restored in the 1830s. Today PIazza Anfiteatro is the heart and soul of the city, lined with bustling cafés where Lucca locals watch the world go by.

Having the 2 bathrooms is a real time saver too. Apartment is spacious and clean. Location is excellent. Piazza san Francesco is less than 1 minute walk with lovely restaurants for food, drinks or even just a coffee. Piazza dell’Anfiteatro is just a 5 minute walk.
