Staying at this Ryokan was a fantastic experience. We opted for the set dinner and breakfast, which were elaborate and delicious, and enjoyed the riverside and indoor family onsens. I was expecting some formality, but very friendly staff (English spoken) and relaxed atmosphere. Very good written information about Japanese bathing customs etc. Also, although not cheap, very good value.

Our stay at this inn was truly wonderful! The place is spacious and clean, making it a comfortable retreat. The view from the house was absolutely stunning—one of the highlights of our trip. I only wish we had booked for more than just one night! Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing and scenic getaway.

The house is located beautifully in the middle of the National Park surrounded by trees. It is decorated thoughtfully and felt like a home far from home. The host was the nicest person we met on our journey. She even helped us with a problem we had with our luggage and took care of us. Thank you so much! We will come back!

    The hotel location is very close to the bus stand (Marou onsen). About a 10-minute walk, Marou Falls can be seen. The Ebino Plateau can be reached from this bus stand, and the glimpse of the Kirishima Mountain range is clearly visible. There are only two buses running from Maruo Onsen to Ebino Kogen. 1st Bus from Maruo Onsen is 8:31, and the last bus from Ebino Kogen is 16:00.

    The staff were wonderful, especially front desk . No complaints about the food .The rotemburo was lovely ( we are fit and able ....steps might be difficult for some) but the baths in the hotel were more convenient. Easily found off the road close to the waterfall Ebino plateau and hikes close by too ( the reason for our stay. I'd go back no problem.

    Good location for going hiking from Ebino Plateau. Staff were very helpful with making sure I was getting on the correct bus, and also bus times when checking out. It is down the hill behind La Vista Resort, look for the black cat signs.

    Very good - What previous guests thought, 573 reviews
    Great buffet held in 2 very busy sittings. Plenty of super seafood and veg plus some Western options. The beds were comfortable with nice bedding and there was plenty of extremely hot water. We were provided with dressing gowns and slippers. The staff were super kind and helpful. Buses up to the Ebino Plateau enabled us to undertake some truly stunning walks on the volcanoes.
