The property was way better than the photos they provide. The facilities are amazing, the staff are lovely, there’s always a few staff available that want to help, and the food is so fresh. It’s also very close to a 7/11 and a train station. Shower is huge. Thank you for letting us stay!

Mimaru is honestly the best chain for families and big groups. Well worth the price for it’s location and facilities. Staff were excellent and so helpful. They have luggage delivery services and even rent out bikes for the day. The city centre is minutes away by walking.

Its a vibe in Kyoto and maybe more modern then the rest but we loved coming back in the evening after long days sightseeing! they have few really nice restaurants and roof top bar! Also a fantastic bar located in the building were the shops are: dig the line: bottle and bar! I am pretty sure we got both our rooms upgraded and we had interconnecting rooms that at least I found rare find in Japan but very nice with kids! Lobby staff were so helpful and attentive! only thing I can fault is the staff at the restaurant seemed sometimes a little lost with organizing so dishes and glasses kind of built up around us on empty tables and that we found is very rare in Japan but I think thats managment in restaurants and not hotel! so overall! great hotel! good comfortable rooms and a total vibe! We found really nice caffès and shops around the hotel❤️

Kinkaku-ji Temple

This Zen Buddhist temple is named after its gleaming centrepiece, the Kinkaku-ji pavilion. This three-tiered tower is coated in gold foil, which gives off a luxuriant gleam amongst the backdrop of pine trees. To see Kinkaku-ji at its radiant best, stroll around the pond at sunset, when the horizon’s glow illuminates the gold in the twilight.

Beautiful and in the middle of a pond surrounded by a garden. Can't say it was serene because there were many people there even early in the morning, but there were some moments when I could feel solitude and the beauty

If you have seen its photo on the net then you have seen this temple. Its location is far from public transportation and only taxi or city bus access which makes it a slog to get there for little reward. I avoid taking tours there and often recommend people not to waste half a day going there and back

Kinkaku-ji Temple, also known as the Golden Pavilion, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Kyoto, Japan. It is a Zen Buddhist temple that is covered in gold leaf, and it is located on a picturesque lake. I visited Kinkaku-ji Temple recently, and I was absolutely blown away. The temple is even more beautiful than I imagined. The gold leaf gleams in the sunlight, and the reflection in the lake is simply stunning. I also enjoyed walking around the temple grounds. The gardens are well-maintained and there are a number of other interesting buildings and exhibits to see. Overall, I had a wonderful time at Kinkaku-ji Temple. It is a must-see for anyone visiting Kyoto. Here is a short review of Kinkaku-ji Temple: Kinkaku-ji Temple is a stunning and iconic landmark in Kyoto. The gold leaf gleams in the sunlight, and the reflection in the lake is simply breathtaking. The temple grounds are also beautiful and well-maintained. I highly recommend a visit to Kinkaku-ji Temple if you are looking for a beautiful and memorable experience in Kyoto.

The most touristy stop in Kyoto that felt more like an amusement park than a temple or shrine. However, the shrine is so stunning that it's hard to complain. Don't expect much more out of this location than a few great photos of a stunning temple.

Try to go early or on a rainy day, otherwise you have to wait in long lines to take a photo, especially if it's sunny, because literally everyone and their dog visits there. But it truly is stunning and beautiful.

If you can visit in the moths of May/June, you'll be able to see the temple with nice weather and beautiful skies. Also, if you arrive in the morning, you'll be able to have great places to take pictures for yourself.
