A very stylish hotel with attention to detail. Though our room was quite small, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Excellent rainshower. Special thanks for no annoying techical lights (TV, AC, sensors) that shine brightly at night like in most other hotels. We liked the a la carte breakfast selection: quick, yummy and nutritious. A huge thank you to the friendly staff who helped us arrange a taxi on short notice. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.

Our room was HUGE with a beautiful view of the autumn leaves and river in Kyoto - and super centrally located to a lot of great restaurants and sightseeing spots in Gion. I am still honestly dreaming about the jacuzzi tub - walking 20k+ steps in Japan and being able to soak in the tub was a dream. I was also super impressed by the amenities, I've never been to a hotel that also provides a hair straightener but it was amazing. I loved this hotel so much and was very sad to leave it.

    We went there just before the golden week began and it...

    We went there just before the golden week began and it really wasnt crowded at all! Great place to experience a more 'serene' (its a tourist attraction after all) and calm kyoto with the various small beautiful buildings on the grounds. I have to admit there is not a lot to see overall so if you want more indepth information i recommend going somewhere else - 600¥ is also a bit higher than usual but if you want to take a break of crowded kyoto thats the place! Good sanitary facilities and a small teahouse with the typical green tea and sweets at the end. The small shrine in front is also worth visiting with a very nice stairway from the streets from kyoto and a small ice cream booth (matcha ice is recommended). the surroundings are also worth checking out with another nice buddhist temple and traditional vendor's streets close by. Don't forget checking out the small bamboo grove on the tour walk-through! 4/5 stars would come back.
